Exploration

In our hometown, there's that place we discovered by chance, which is an abandonned place, where you can enter by a hole through the gate. So with friends, we decided it would be nice, funny and a bit spooky to go there at night and explore the whole place.  

Preparation

We went scouting the place by day to see the topography of the place, see where you can enter, which kind of buildings there are. 

The place is composed of  various buildings, a few warehouses, houses, a whole hotel, garages, gardens, all abandonned for years or decades. 

The place has been taken over by all sort of people, bums, graphers, kids, etc. 

As we had decided to go explore the place by night, we also decided that we would need proper equipment.

1 - black kinda camo clothes

As we wanted to stay stealthy in the night and not be seen, the proper attire for the exploration was a  set of black clothes. Kinda burglar-like clothes, but obviously the activity is ot the same. 

 

gloves are very imprtant to protect your hands, you never know what you'll have to grab and touch out there.

2- Flashlight

As the exploration took place at night, to have good vision in a dark environment, flashlights were totally required. 

3 - Knife

Just a small blade to use as a tool, to cut ropes, carve wood if needed.

Exploration 

On d-day, we left after the streets were dark, parked the car a few blocks away from the place of the exploration, we walked quickly to the entrance and got into into and took cover to make sure no one had seen us enter. We cleared the first building quickly to stay inside a few minutes, the first part of the zone was mainly warehouses, that were full of rocks and junk. we explored them quickly. 

Advancing fast to the next zone when we heard screams in the nearby street, so my friends and Ii just ran in the direction of the screams to see what was going on, as a woman was screaming, like she was the victim of an assault. We got closer to the noise, remaining hidden, to finally see that the woman was just laughing with some of her friends, a block away. 

As these people obviously didnt need help, we just stayed hidden, waiting for them to get away. After those people had gotten away, we went back to the warehouses and kept on going forward, until we reached a first abandonned house. The place was kinda creepy, and also dirty, as it seemed like some people had been living there for some time. After that we explored the hotel, which was really big, we found lot of old stuff but we also found blankets and stuff that seemed like they could have been used pretty recently, which made us feel we could not have been the only people in the place at that moment. 

We kept on going and reached a bigh place which used to be a big house, we explored it too, and there we found lot of old stuff, magazines, clothes, toys etc. We picked some stuff from there as it was kind of trophies of our exploration. 

We  explored the whole place without meeting anyone, but took time to see everything that was there. 

Loot

 No, this is not an old dildo. It is a old kid toy. And I found it on the floor of what could have been the living room of a house, and I kinda wanted to take it as a trophy because I felt like it as strange that most of the things in the house had dissapeared of were destroyed, but a symbol of childhood like that was still standing.

During the exploration we found plenty of old magazines. I picked up that one as I found something intriguing, that magazin might be 35 years old or more, as it contains an official copy of the testament of Charles de Gaule, WWII hero and former President of France. The place also contained 1945 magazines that we could not transport, but that we might go pick up later.

I also found there very old glasses, as you always seem to forget where yours are, it might be useful !

And finally, as we were leaving, I came across that worker helmet that seemed like it had been here for years too. so I also picked it up.

Exploration was really cool, the place seems crazy we sure want to try again sometimes.
